In the most basic sense, a Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scheme where early investors are paid dividends with funds collected from new investors. This allows those running the scheme to guarantee original investors with massive returns for a finite period of time. These investors then happily tell others about the “wonderful” boon they’ve found, which leads to more investors giddily signing up. And for as long as new investors with new money can be brought in, the scheme will last. But then, at some inevitable point in in the future that cannot be precisely predicted, the whole pretense falls apart because at its core, it was built on nothing but a foundation of smoke, mirrors, and empty promises.
Think about it another way:
Have you ever watched a TV show that built suspense by constantly introducing new mysteries to the plot that always left you hanging? These shows survive by adding a million different elements to the narrative that are so complicated that the show’s writers can't possibly tie it all together in any way that makes sense. People watch these shows religiously because they are thrilled by the complex mystery being created and just have to know how it all resolves in the end.
These same viewers are often left disappointed when the show collapses in on itself as it becomes clear the authors never had a plan for resolution from the start.
Understand those two scenarios?
Good. Now...
Let’s talk about the Democratic game plan for the upcoming midterm elections.
Democratic policy over the last two years hasn’t worked. Democratic politicians know that. Republican politicians know that. You’d think any warm blooded, sentient being would know that by now. Unfortunately, there remains a large contingent of Democratic voters who somehow still can’t see it. Some due to stubbornness. Some due to stupidity.
It is this confused group that Democratic candidates will focus their attention on in the months leading up to the 2022 election season.
You see, the Democrats know they can’t win in November by trying to justify what they’ve done over the last two years. Their past Covid policies -- which by the day are being proven undeniably to have objectively harmed the country -- were a total disaster that wrought social, economic, and mental destruction on the country. Gas prices are up, business is down, people aren’t working, inflation is a total disaster, and supply chain issues seem to suggest things will get worse before they get better.
But surprisingly, none of this matters to the Democrats’ chances in November, because talking about the past isn’t part of their election game plan. It’s not what they do because it can’t be what they do because any third grader can see that if you go by past indicators of success, you don’t want Democrats in office. Fortunately for these failed politicians, past success isn’t what their voters want to hear about either.
Instead, the Democrats are going to go to their wheelhouse and give their constituents what they want:
Fear mongering alarmism and unsustainable promises.
Stop me if you’ve heard any of these things from a Democratic politician:
“If Republicans gain control, millions of women will die due to a lack of access to abortion!”
“If Democrats gain control, all student debt will be forgiven!”
“If Republicans gain control, all homosexual and transgender rights will cease to exist!”
“If Democrats gain control, the minimum wage will immediately increase to $20 an hour!”
“If Republicans gain control, public schools funding will be cut drastically!”
“If Democrats gain control, hate speech will be eliminated from society!”
“If Republicans gain control, Global Warming will destroy the earth within ____ years!”
“If Democrats gain control, our country will run on fully green energy by <insert date here>!”
There are a thousand other unjustifiable fears and unachievable promises the Democrats consistently regurgitate to motivate their base in the months leading up to elections. How there are still people out there who can’t see through these repetitive, no substance tactics is beyond me, but it’s clear this infantile method of motivation still works on many.
Democrats will pretend to offer whatever unsustainable, pie-in-the-sky policy they can to temporarily hypnotize their voters into a docile, feel good state, despite the impossibility of ever actually implementing the alleged policy or the devastating consequences that would inevitably arise from it.
The election season promise of the Democrats is a Ponzi scheme. It’s sold to wide eyed, naïve voters every few years, but built only on illusion. The future generations of America will be the victims who take the fall at its inescapable implosion.
